針梳由許多ㄑ型的不鏽鋼絲組成，適用於各種犬隻。使用時可以一手按住毛小孩的身體，並順勢撥開毛小孩的毛，另一手持梳柄，順著毛小孩毛髮生長方向一層一層梳，記得梳子要與毛孩的身體平行，輕柔緩慢的由毛髮根部梳到髮尾，才不會刮傷毛小孩的皮膚。梳毛要分段梳，遇到糾結的毛團時可先用手拆解，記得拉住毛根拆結免得毛小孩痛，再從毛根處輕梳，千萬不可以一梳到底，過度的拉扯會容易傷害皮毛，也會讓毛小孩感到不適，並且給予一個不好的美容印象。若毛髮已經無法梳開，可用刀梳幫助拆結或用剪刀將打結的部份剪掉。
